Happy Mother’s Day 2016

Solos pt 2 by Ariel (as Orisoni)

The more I ponder it, the more I realize the moms of the Star Wars Galaxy have it pretty rough.  I respect and appreciate all the mothers toiling to raise their kids right; whether from Tatooine, Alderaan, Toledo, or Alhambra.

If it wasn’t for the moms of the world, I may not be posting anything…since I noticed May 2015 was the last time I made a post. A lot of time has passed by, and much ha happened to me. I am quite different now than a year ago, though I seek to improve myself with each passing year: but this is about moms, not me.

Biological; surrogate; adoptive; or spiritual. It is not what is in one’s DNA but in the person’s heart.

Lastly, it is not about the good times, but the day-to-day.  Mothers make the hardest choices and suffer the loudest breaks of the heart when doing what feels the most right, despite what the best answer is.

Happy Mother’s Day 2015

Anakin's vision of mom

This goes out to all the moms out there…

The ones who can be called…

…as well as the ones who can only manifest in a vision.

If you can dial your mother, feel lucky – and then make that call.  If you can visit her; make the call, and then surprise her by showing up.

Anakin once flew all the way from Naboo to Tatooine just to show his mom how much he cared.  And people call him a sith whiny bad guy.  If she’s less than a tank of gas away, go for it!

If you haven’t seen the original post, give it a look here…

Am I Supposed to be Writing..?

Nanowrimo 2014 will be engulfing me soon enough.  I haven’t set eyes on my notes since December of 2013 but I have faith the scribblings are in one of the two writing boxes I have at hand.

For people wondering what I’ll write…the image above is a vague idea.  If anyone read my book from last year and wanted more; I’m still quite inclined work on the continuation.  I won’t call it a sequel, but I still look at the endeavor as a complete book.

The image came about when I was lightly dared to draw in unison with another person.  The sketch was done on a small sheet of notebook paper.  I gave it a little pizazz via some image manipulation.   Here’s what it started as…

This is a hopeful sign I am easing back into the blog.  Like the Pere Ubu track; Something’s gotta give…

My Desktop: February 2013

Feb 2013 desktop

Take it as it is: here’s the desktop I’m sticking to this month – by the artist 3day Weekend on deviantART.  I didn’t even attempt to put any files away or try to hide anything- so there’s the unvarnished me.

See the real pic by click the artist’s name; or here.  To see the big version of my screen, click the image.

I found this art by doing a search based off a particular song.  It’s the same title as my song, so go discover some new art while trying to get the answer to the track I don’t get out of my head this month of the year.  If you like the artist, don’t forget to say how you found out.

My Gaming: December 2012

gaming Dec2012

The plan was to make a tease sort of post; but things didn’t go off as I hoped.  In fact, much of this concept didn’t go off as expected…but I hope it will be a recurring segment.

Since I spend a lot of time talking about (or actually playing) my PSP, I thought this year I’d use my modified handheld to not only showcase some of the silly games I play, but also prove there is plenty of reason not to jump to the “PSV” quite yet (even though the PSVita will have a theoretic life of at least two more years, but I digress…).

With emulators and homebrew, all sorts of things can still be accomplished on a PSP Slim [2k of 3k] such as mine: despite Plagueis the Wise and Palp the Craggy corroborating my firmware being “unnatural” in a word.

Originally I hoped to have a slideshow each month, but flash doesn’t work here.  Then I hoped to do a gallery here, but things weren’t working as I hoped.  Then I planned to make two galleries: one showing my screenshots for that month, and another linking to each game (for deeper investigation) – but ImageShack doesn’t let one image exist in two albums.

Hit the jump to figure out the solution… Continue reading

Lots Happening in my Head (positively)

Weirdness – via jessiisthehizz

The image represents the heading a tad.  Some literary flatlining has been going on. Not in the blocked writing fashion, but more as a recovery effort.  I suppose the blog has become collateral damage as a result…just as my failure to update my writing sites.

In the last thirty days (in no particular order) I was:

Quite a logjam of information!  I’ll write about it all, but it will happen more out of sequence than a Quentin Tarantino flick.  The winners will be those who subscribe to the blog: since they get notified of my posts…no matter what I set the date as.  All the rest will have to keep clicking and checking for anything above which caught interest.  I’ll link as I go, meaning I’ll keep this post at the top until late July, but some things may get lost in the shuffle.

I’m not trying to force anyone to subscribe, but there are perks: especially once I give the layout another renovation.  Hopefully the posts will all be up before camp starts again, but who knows.  I still plan on adding to the “cabin blog” we started before the June session.  Call it moonlighting…but I did make a couple posts very similar here as I had there.

More could be mentioned, but I’ll save it for one of the secretive posts.  Keep checking back; unless you’re a notified subscriber – since you’ll know the minute something is posted; no matter how heavy on the chronitons an entry happens to be.

What?  I’m assuming you aren’t wondering where to rush out and purchase this so-called novel.  If you’re already searching torrents Amazon to find it, stop looking.  It doesn’t exist.

Why is there such an abomination to literature in the fictitious on here?  Why am I claiming it’s mine?  I did it because of 100scopenotes, and you can too – using the formula for:

1 – Go to “Fake Name Generator” or click fakenamegenerator.com

The name that appears is your author name.

2 – Go to “Random Word Generator” or click websitestyle.com/parser/randomword

The word listed under “Random Verb” is your title.

3 – Go to “FlickrCC” or click flickrcc.bluemountains.net

Type your title into the search box. The first photo that contains a person is your cover.

4 – Use Photoshop, Picnik, or similar to put it all together. Be sure to crop and/or zoom in.

5 – Post it to your site along with this text.

I followed the same directions and ended up with what you saw above.  Here’s the image I was randomized…
